Sera sighed as she jogged down the sidewalk. Again, hunger was getting the best of her. She stepped into the pizza place where her footsteps had taken her, and fished six dollars and a few quarters out of the pocket of her blue jeans. She sat down at an empty table and placed her daughter in a booster seat by her side. She ran one pale, thin hand through her ebony hair as she waited to order. Her dark purple shirt matched the bundle that surrounded little Korissa as Sera opened a container of baby food for her. She ordered a mini pizza and a bottle of water for herself and began to spoon mush into Korissa's mouth as she waited for her order.
